WHAT YOU GET
THE CULLINAN GUIDE
The Cullinan is the Rolls-Royce for people who want the quiet authority of the marque with a little more height and presence. It takes its name from the Cullinan diamond, the largest gem quality diamond ever found, discovered in South Africa in 1905. Where the Phantom is a stately saloon, the Cullinan sits taller, so you step in rather than down, and you see over the traffic on Park Lane rather than into it.
Clients choose it for a wedding at a country house, for collecting guests from a private jet, for an evening at the opera or a dinner in Mayfair, and for long days when comfort matters more than anything. Because it is booked by the hour, the car and chauffeur stay with you from the first pickup to the last drop.
The rear doors are hinged at the back, Rolls-Royce coach doors, which makes getting in and out graceful in an evening dress or a morning suit, and they close at the touch of a button. A glass partition separates the cabin from the boot, so the cabin stays calm and warm when luggage is loaded at an airport or a hotel entrance. The 6.75 litre V12 and air suspension make the ride famously smooth, whether on London streets or a gravel drive. Still water and phone chargers are on board, and the car is prepared before every booking.
The Cullinan carries up to four passengers in comfort. The boot is generous for a car of this kind and takes a couple of large suitcases with hand luggage, which suits most couples and small families. For a larger party, pair the Cullinan with a Mercedes V-Class for guests or bags, and both cars can travel together.
For a wedding, the Cullinan carries the couple to the ceremony and on to the reception, with ribbons on request and a chauffeur who knows the running order and when to wait out of sight for photographs. Its height and gentle ride are a real help on country lanes and long drives, and it pairs well with a Phantom or a V-Class for family and guests. See wedding car hire in London for how wedding days work.
At Farnborough, Biggin Hill and RAF Northolt, a Cullinan waiting at the private aviation terminal makes for an easy, discreet arrival. Your landing time is tracked and the chauffeur loads the bags while you settle in. From Mayfair, Northolt is around 35 to 50 minutes and Farnborough around 60 to 80 minutes, depending on traffic. Read more in our private jet chauffeur guide and on the Farnborough chauffeur page.
In town, the Cullinan suits a night at the theatre, a birthday dinner or an afternoon on New Bond Street, with the chauffeur waiting nearby and bringing the car round when you call. We collect from the grand hotels of Mayfair and Park Lane, including Claridge's, and from homes across Knightsbridge and Belgravia. Out of London, it makes a comfortable base for race days, polo and garden parties; our events and race days page explains how longer days are planned.
Both Rolls-Royce models carry up to four passengers, and our Rolls-Royce hire in London guide compares them side by side. Choose the Cullinan for height, presence and longer journeys out of town, and the Rolls-Royce Phantom for the most formal occasions in the city. If you want a commanding SUV for business travel or an airport run at a fixed price, the Range Rover is the practical choice.
