Chauffeur hire in London is priced in two ways: a fixed price for a single journey, such as an airport transfer, or an hourly rate when the car and chauffeur stay with you. The car you choose makes the biggest difference, followed by the distance and how long you need the chauffeur.

Hourly chauffeur hire in London

Hourly hire suits meetings, shopping days, dinners and events, because your chauffeur waits nearby between stops. Most companies set a minimum booking, typically three hours. Our hourly rates are:

CarHourly rate (ex VAT)
Mercedes V-Class · up to 6£85/hr
Mercedes S-Class · up to 4£90/hr
Range Rover · up to 4£125/hr
Rolls-Royce Phantom or CullinanFrom £175/hr
Executive Sprinter · up to 8From £120/hr (4-hour minimum)

So a typical four-hour evening in an S-Class comes to £360 excluding VAT. See chauffeur hire by the hour for more detail, or our private driver for the day guide for half and full day totals.

Airport transfer prices

Airport transfers are usually quoted as a fixed price, one way, between central London and the airport. Our prices, which include parking, the congestion charge and meet and greet:

AirportV-ClassS-ClassRange Rover
Heathrow, London City, Northolt£190£195£295
Gatwick, Luton£265£270£395
Stansted, Farnborough, Biggin Hill£280£285£425

Each airport has its own page with meeting points and timings, for example Heathrow, Gatwick and Farnborough.

What should be included in the price

Two quotes that look similar can end up very different on the invoice. Before you book any chauffeur, check whether the price includes:

  • Parking and the congestion charge. Airport parking alone can add a noticeable amount to a pickup.
  • Waiting time. At airports, look for free waiting from the time the flight lands (we include 90 minutes), not from the scheduled time.
  • Meet and greet. A chauffeur waiting in arrivals with a name board, rather than in the car park.
  • Card fees and surcharges. Some firms add night, weekend or card surcharges. We do not.
  • VAT. Many prices, ours included, are shown excluding VAT, so compare like with like.

Why prices vary between companies

The cheapest quotes usually come from ride-hailing executive tiers or from firms that send whichever car is free. A luxury chauffeur service costs more because you are paying for a specific class of car, a dedicated and well-presented chauffeur, flight tracking, a fixed price agreed before you travel and someone answering the phone at three in the morning.

For regular travel, a corporate account keeps the same fixed prices but puts every journey on one monthly invoice.
